Registration of weapons in South Darfur may be extended

So far, the government in South Darfur has registered more than 3,200 weapons, according to a state police report. Mohamed Yahya Hassan, chairman of the inventory committee and the state regulation of arms and his team made inquiries in both eastern and western localities.

Mohamed Yahya Hassan, chairman of the inventory committee and the state regulation of arms and his team made inquiries in both eastern and western localities.As a result of these discoveries, the committee shall submit a request to the state government, in which it will ask an extension for six months, of the registration period. After the expiration of this period, authorities will crack down on illegal possession of weapons. Penalties will then be meted out, to people in possession of weapons, they failed to register.
