Police shoots two bus passengers in eastern Sudan

Two residents were shot and seriously injured by police forces in the outskirts of Kassala in eastern Sudan on Sunday night. The reason for the shooting could not yet be determined.

Two residents were shot and seriously injured by police forces in the outskirts of Kassala in eastern Sudan on Sunday night.

Witnesses reported that a police vehicle, led by an officer accompanied by three police personnel, opened dense fire at a bus. The bus was heading to Um Safari, a few kilometers east of of Kassala. Two passengers were wounded.

The bus was carrying ten sacks of flour and cement. Both Abdel Rahman Mohamed Abdallah, shot in the shoulder and his kidney, and Hassan Nassib Ali, shot in the head and abdomen, were transferred to Kassala hospital for treatment, the sources said. The reason for the shooting could not yet be determined.
