Traders’ strike stalls Nyala market, South Darfur

Market traders embarked on a strike on Monday, in response against the increased new fees for 2015.

Market traders at Nyala, capital of South Darfur, decided to strike on Sunday, causing an accumulation of vehicles that are supposed to carry goods into the market of the state capital.

A trader explained that the strike came in response against the increased new fees on goods, which were approved by the Legislative Council for the year of 2015 – without consulting the traders, he claimed.

He pointed out to Dabanga that the fees more than doubled in the new year.
