The drivers refuse to proceed out of fear for plundering and abductions because of the heavy presence of paramilitaries of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and other militiamen.

One of the drivers told this station that more than 400 truckloads of goods are blocked because of the insecurity on the roads leading to Zalingei and El Geneina. He explained that the militiamen began to spread in the area after their withdrawal from the battlegrounds in Jebel Marra.
