Gunmen attack Yama garrison and loot consumer goods, S Darfur
Pro-government gunmen looted a vehicle carrying consumer goods inside the Yama garrison north of Kass in South Darfur on Sunday.
A witness recounted to Radio Dabanga that the gunmen, in four Land Cruiser vehicles mounted with Duskha machine guns, attacked the Yama garrison on Saturday and clashed with the army.
The witness claimed that the militants seized a commercial vehicle and looted large quantities of sugar, oil, flour, clothing, soap and other consumer goods.
It was added that the commercial vehicle was part of a trade convoy en route from Nyala to El Geneina and was pulled into the military garrison when the vehicle broke down.
