600,000 school drop-outs in Darfur: Minister

About 600,000 school students in Darfur have dropped out as a result of the ongoing armed conflicts in the region. Osman Wash, the Darfur Regional Authority’s Minister of Technology and Capacity Building revealed the number of school drop-outs in a press conference on Sunday.Wash briefed the press on the contents of a meeting with the federal Minister of Human Resources, Sadiq Ali Abdel Rasool, in which the establishment of vocational training centres, and the adoption of qualified training programmes for Darfuri students, were discussed.
