Twin five-year-old brothers were killed when Sudanese soldiers shelled the area in East Jebel Marra. Two women were raped on their farm near Mashrou Abu Zeid, six kilometres east of Dubo El Omda in East Jebel Marra, on Monday morning.

Shelling by Sudan Armed Forces near Kakaro village in East Jebel Marra resulted in the death of the two brothers on Monday. They were at their father’s farm, south of Kakaro, at the time of the attack.

A witness told Radio Dabanga that the government forces stationed at Kakaro, about five kilometres west of Fanga, opened fire on the farm that belongs to Hamid Saleh. His sons Hassan and Hussein Hamid Saleh sustained fatal injuries.

Yesterday, a relative of one of the rape victims told Radio Dabanga that three members of a paramilitary group, riding camels, assaulted the women near Mashrou Abu Zeid. They were taken to the town to receive traditional treatment.
