WFP employee shot dead

Armed group also beats his wife and child to deathAhmaday Mohammad Omar, an employee of the World Food Program, was killed by an armed group in West Darfur on Tuesday.  His wife and child were also killed in the incident. A relative of the deceased told Radio Dabanga that four armed men entered Omar’s house in Fur Baranga and offloaded five bullets in his chest. They then beat Omar’s wife and child to death.  International aid workers and United Nations African Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) personnel have been repeated targets for attacks and kidnappings in Sudan.  Last week, Radio Dabanga reported about the death of one UN peacekeeper in Duma village in South Darfur.
