Wali: ‘Youths and academics highly represented in South Darfur govt’

The Wali (governor) of South Darfur, Adam El Faki, issued a decree appointing 21 commissioners to the localities of the state, where Yahya Abdelbanat was appointed to the locality of Nyala, and Ismail Yahya to the locality of Nyala North.

The Wali (governor) of South Darfur, Adam El Faki, issued a decree appointing 21 commissioners to the localities of the state, where Yahya Abdelbanat was appointed to the locality of Nyala, and Ismail Yahya to the locality of Nyala North.

On Sunday, El Faki told a news conference that youths and university lecturers now represent a high percentage in his government, emphasising the need to develop and care for the youths’ experiences in governance.

He said that according to new decrees, the commissioners are members of the Council of Ministers, and are given the power to represent state ministers in the localities.

He pointed to the establishment of a fund for people’s livelihood under his personal sponsorship and support which will be officially announced on Monday.
