Public facilities destroyed in South Kordofan arson attack

Vital public facilities have been burned to the ground after an alleged arson attack on Friday. A political dispute seems to have been the cause of the attack.

Vital public facilities have been burned to the ground after an alleged arson attack on Friday. A political dispute seems to have been the cause of the attack.

Witnesses told Radio Dabanga from El Zarafa village in El Tadamon locality the unknown assailants set fire to health and education facilities.

The fire destroyed the contents of the village health centre, and also burned the office of the principal of El Zarafa basic school. All of books and furniture inside were destroyed.

Witnesses suggested that the cause of the attack stemmed from a dispute over the nomination of the ruling National Congress Party (NCP) representative in the village.
