At least three members of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia have been killed when their vehicle triggered an item of unexploded ordnance (UXO) in North Darfur on Thursday.

Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that an RSF convoy of about 45 Land Cruisers was on its way from the capital of El Fasher, southwards towards Jebel Marra.

Near the village of Guenk, one of the vehicles triggered what was presumable a piece of unexploded ordnance; a remnant of earlier hostilities in the area.

The driver and at least two of his passengers perished, according to witness reports.
