US top Darfur official meets rebels in east Jebel Marra

The armed rebel factions held a meeting with the US top advisor on the Darfur file, Dane Smith, in east of Jebel Marra. According to Musa Ahmed Morny, the information counselor to the commander-in-chief of Abdul Wahid’s movement, the meeting focused on the political moves taken by the rebel forces to unify.

He also said that rebels stressed the need to put pressure on the Sudanese government to remove the constraints put on humanitarian organizations in Darfur to bring relief materials to those in need, and to show seriousness will to achieve real peace in Darfur.
