Residents of El Dalanj in South Kordofan complain about the deteriorating services at the locality’s hospital.

Reports reaching Radio Dabanga speak of deterioration in the health and environmental services, lack of medicine, and a shortage of medical and healthcare staff. El Dalanj hospital serves thousands of the inhabitants of the locality and its outskirts.

A source told to Radio Dabanga that there is only one specialist in internal medicine at the hospital and three nurses. There are just ten assistants who are paid less than the minimum wage of SDG200 ($33) a month.

He said that the hospital also lacks toilets, electricity and water, and appealed to the authorities to speed-up finding a solution to the problem.
