UNAMID employee arrested in Zalingei

Sudanese security forces arrested yesterday UNAMID (African Union – United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur) employee Sherif Mohamed Abdel-Salam, who lives at the Al Hamidiya IDP camp in Zalingei, Central Darfur. A witness told Radio Dabanga that a joint military force formed by the security service, military Intelligence and the Investigation Police intercepted Abdel-Salam on his way to UNAMID’s headquarters in Zalingei. He was brought to a police station amid tight security.
