Traders arrested and goods confiscated in Garsela, central Darfur

The security services of Garsela in central Darfur, arrested more than 20 traders yesterday. A trader told Radio Dabanga that the security forces carried out large-scale campaigns, and raided Garsela’s market. Between 20 and 30 traders were arrested.In addition to the arrest, their goods were confiscated under the pretext of expiration of the validity date. Mainly canned goods, flour, biscuits and milk were confiscated. The trader added that all detainees were released after breakfast (sunset), on personal bail. The security forces informed the traders that they were expected for trial on Sunday and that their goods would be confiscated and they would be fined in case they were to be convicted.
