Three Nyala neighborhoods without steady water supply

Residents of Al Sharqiya, Al Thora, and Al Matar districts in the city of Nyala complained of shortage of tap water from the pumps. Residents told Radio Dabanga that the water from pumps supplied through taps did not reach them even on the designated days of the week when the neighborhoods were supposed to have water. They stated that this was unfair because they pay the monthly fees for the water without getting any water services.

Responding to this report, the Minister of Water and Irrigation in the state, Hussein Kaskous, said in an interview with Radio Dabanga that the shortage of water has justifiable reasons and said that he has issued a decision demanding any citizen that does not have water services to write a request to the service department to exempt them from paying fees for services they did not receive.
