Three killed in missile attack in Sudan’s South Kordofan

Three civilians were killed, and five were wounded in a missile attack launched by the Sudanese army from Kadugli, capital of South Kordofan, on Wednesday.
Arnu Ngutulu Lodi, spokesman for the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), reported in a statement on Saturday, that the shelling targeted the area of Shururu village.
The missiles hit the village, killing Kaluma Kanu Jaris, Jamila Mohamed Tiya, and Lubna Mutwakil Musa. Husna and Um Salama Hisam Mekki, Abdelrahman Mohamed, and Ghada and Masour Abdelrahman were injured.

The governor of South Kordofan, Adam El Faki, told the press on Friday that 136 people were killed, and more than 150 were wounded during the campaign waged by the SPLM-N against the Sudanese election last week.

Rebel forces shelled the towns of Kadugli, Habila, and El Abbasiya on Tuesday, in an attempt to obstruct the electoral process. No mention of casualties was made at the time.
