Student detained by Nyala security services

The security services of Nyala, South Darfur, arrested a student three days ago and are still keeping him in detention, sources told Radio Dabanga on Thursday, 29 November. Mohamed Suleiman Sanusi, an undergraduate from the faculty of economics and business studies located on the fifth level of the Nyala University, was reportedly arrested on Monday at his house at the Taiba neighborhood.    According to sources, Sanusi is a member of the independent student’s movement at the Nyala University. Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that heavily armed members from the security services raided Sanusi’s house and brought him to an unknown destination. They were driving Land Cruisers and terrorized the student’s family and neighbors before arresting him. Students, activists and lawyers demanded the immediate release of Sanusi and of others still in detention across the country.
