Criminals release health ministry workers
An unidentified criminal group, who kidnapped three individuals working for the ministry of health of South Darfur, released the hostages in Nitega locality, community leaders told Radio Dabanga on Thursday, 29 November. The personnel, who work for the ministry’s department that combats malaria, were kidnapped in Mershing locality on Monday during a campaign against yellow fever and released three days later. On a related note, community leaders from Nitega locality claim to have recently recovered a vehicle and spraying equipment belonging to the state’s ministry of health. They told Radio Dabanga the items were seized in Mershing by the same criminal group. A delegation from Nitega, led by Commissioner Osman Idris and Misseriya tribe Chief Tijani Abdul Qader, has reportedly returned the recovered vehicle and spraying equipment to the ministry of health of South Darfur.Radio Dabanga file photo
