The Sudan Revolutionary Front (SRF) reported that its troops attacked a military convoy in South Darfur on Saturday.
Mustafa Tambur, the military spokesman for the Sudan Liberation Movement led by Abdel Wahid El Nur (SLM-AW), reported to Radio Dabanga that their troops, under the banner of the SRF, attacked at about 5pm on Saturday a military convoy in the area of Safia Um Gad. The convoy was coming from the city of Nyala.
Tambur claimed that nine government and militia troops were killed. The SLM-AW forces captured a policeman stationed at the Civil Registry office at Nyala. They also seized six Land Cruisers loaded with various weapons, and large quantities of ammunition and supplies.
