The National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) arrested a protester Hussein Al Haj Bakar, along with other civilians in South Kordofan’s Al Muglat locality for distributing protest pamphlets in the city.The leaflets asked people to ‘protest against the rising inflation and bring down the system.’ Civilians also gathered in front of the NISS headquarters in order to demand the release of the arrested members.

The citizens of Al Tabaun area, in Babonsh locality gave the commissioner one week to fulfill their demands of better services in areas of health and education.

Govt employees upset

A large number of employees of the Agricultural Department in e Nuba Mountains expressed deep discontent over unpaid wages since 18 months. They threatened to go on strike if the authorities did not respond to their demands.

Employees pointed out that they had been pacified by hollow promises from the Federal Ministry of Finance repeatedly.
