A woman and her daughter were abducted from the vicinity of El Fasher by members of an armed force on Thursday. Robbers severely beat farmers in Darfur's East Jebel Marra when they stole their money and donkeys on Wednesday.

The abduction occurred at Dorma, 16 kilometres southwest of the state capital.

A relative of the abducted people told this station that a number of PDF members, riding camels, attacked the settlement in Dorma, where they grabbed Sayda Khalil Mohamed and her daughter Hawa Osman El Nur (16 years) and took them to an unknown destination.

The relative claimed to know the name of one of the abductors.

A complaint has been filed with the Commissioner of El Fasher, El Tijani Abdallah Saleh. The relative said that Saleh has instructed one of the Arab Omdas in the area, reportedly named Omer, to return the mother and daughter.
