Large fire displaces families in South Darfur camp

A massive fire, the second in two months, at El Doma camp for the displaced destroyed more than twenty homes.

A massive fire that broke out at El Doma camp in Mershing locality, South Darfur, has destroyed the full contents of eighteen houses and eight shelters on Thursday.

Camp sheikh Adam Ahmed Eisa told Radio Dabanga that the fire displaced a number of families, and caused a significant damage to their livelihoods.

He added that the fire was the second of it kind in two months, and called upon the humantiarian organisations to speed up their provision of assistance to the affected families.
