Jordanian security delegation arrives in El-Fasher

Radio Dabanga was informed that a security delegation from Jordan, led by General Mohamed Abdullah El-Ragad, arrived in El-Fasher, the capital of North Dafur today. The General announced the delegation is in Darfur to pursue the search for the two Jordanian UNAMID soldiers who disappeared from the Kabkabiya market on 20 August. According to the Sudanese News Agency (SUNA) the Governor of North Darfur, Osman Mohamed Yusuf Kibir, said local authorities made efforts to find the two abducted UNAMID soldiers. SUNA reported the governor said abductions are used as bargaining chips to obtain ransom, and he appealed to UNAMID not to give in to the kidnappers’ demands.
