JEM condemns accusation of Darfuri fighting for Gaddafi

The Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) condemned the speech of the Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Karti, which he gave to the legislative assembly on Monday. During the speech he alleged that members of Darfuri armed factions are participating in the ongoing events in Libya. Suleiman Sandal Haggar, the general commander of the JEM forces, said in an interview with Radio Dabanga that Ali Karti’s speech is an intentinoal provocation against Darfurians in Libya and Sudanese in general. The rebel general demanded that Karti be tried for making such remarks.

The rebel general demanded that Karti be tried for making such remarks.For his part, Dr. Ismail Hussien Fadl, the head of the opposition bloc in the legislative assembly, described the speech of the minister as irresponsible and affirmed that the speech puts any Sudanese under suspicion in Libya and under real threat by the Libyan rebels who believe that Sudan is supporting Gaddafi.
