JEM appeal to international community to save Nuba leader

The Justice and Equality Movement has appealed to the international community and the UN to immediately intervene to stop the Sudanese government from implementing the death sentence against El Tom Hamid Coco, a leading figure in the movement in the Nuba Mountains. JEM military spokesman Musa El Sakin told Radio Dabanga that government authorities arrested El Tom yesterday in South Kordofan and decided to execute him. He said this was done without any legal basis and is a violation of all international conventions relating to prisoners of war.
