‘Janjaweed’ steal cattle, injure, kidnap people in West and North Darfur

Two people were abducted by Janjaweed in West Darfur on Thursday. On the same day militiamen injured a herder and stole his cattle in North Darfur. “On Thursday Janjaweed on camels and horses were chasing thieves who stole a camel and goods from them,” a listener from Araw village, south of Murnei, told Radio Dabanga. “When they came to the area of Araw, where the thieves came from, they could not find the stolen goods or the camel. Thereupon they seized Bakhit Yahya Sharif and Musa Abu Leyla and took them to an unknown destination.” The gunmen demanded a ransom for the release of the two men, the witness added. “The head of the Araw village has already entered into negotiations with them.” Cattle stolen In the area of Mukshasha, Saraf Umra locality in North Darfur, Haroun Ahmed Aboud was injured by militiamen on Thursday.
