The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said that it managed to transport two members of the Sudan Armed Forces to the government authorities in El Fasher on Sunday. ICRC stated that the two soldiers had been detained by the Liberation and Justice Movement and handed over to staff of the organization near the city of Kutum in North Darfur. The Red Cross took over the responsibility of organizing the transportation process on the basis of a request from the two sides to provide logistical support and other means of help to the freed detainees. ICRC noted, however, that it did not participate in the negotiations which led to their release.
