The Justice and Equality Movement stated from Qatar that the signing of a peace agreement between the government and the Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM) would mean the end of the Doha forum. In an interview with Radio Dabanga, Ahmed Tugud Lisan, the chief JEM negotiator, said that he would consider the signing of any ‘partial peace agreement’ with LJM alone as interference with the mediators’ efforts to reach to a comprehensive peace. He called for a halt in signing an agreement between the LJM and the government despite and called for patience till a comprehensive solution for the crisis is reached. He also warned that signing any agreement with the LJM would not bear consequences in reality and that the international community will not accept or support it. Tugud also stressed on the fact that the movement will not continue in Doha for a long period of time without knowing where the forum will lead to and will withdraw from Doha if the government insists to considering the stake-holders’ conference as an alternative to negotiation.

The Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) also recently warned petrol companies against allowing government forces from using their airport for military operations. Jibril Adam Bilal, the spokesman of the movement, told Radio Dabanga that they will continue to target the airports of those companies as long as Antonov planes keep taking off from them to strike civilians in Darfur and South Kordofan. Jibril also stated that the government extracted petrol in huge amounts in Darfur and Kordofan to use its revenues for military operations. This warning follows JEM-Kordofan’s strike on the airport in Hegleig oil field in Southern Kordofan.
