Darfur Regional Authority passes social peace conference

The Darfur Regional Authority Council on Thursday passed an initiative launched by the Commission of Justice, Truth and Reconciliation for a conference on social peace in Darfur. The Council called for the need to prepare an in-depth study and solutions of the causes of Darfur’s conflicts. The commission also has to take measures that protect displaced people from violations, develop a study to assess the extent of the suffered damage and ways to compensate them.The Commissioner of Justice, Truth and Reconciliation has announced to allocate around SDG4,047,000 ($705,000) for the social peace conference.
