Darfur NGO licenses cancelled

NGOs in South Darfur say that the authorities of the state warned about 160 national organizations that their annual license have not been renewed while it allowed only 20 organizations owned by the National Congress Party to stay.

NGOs in South Darfur say that the authorities of the state warned about 160 national organizations that their annual license have not been renewed while it allowed only 20 organizations owned by the National Congress Party to stay. Jamal Yusuf, the commissioner of humanitarian aid in South Darfur denied carrying out procedures against these organizations and clarified that they were evaluating the work of the organizations. Jamal also confirmed that the commission has the legal right to cancel a license.
