Dabanga Sudan has moved to Eutelsat W7A, Frequency: 12399. The Arab owner of the Arabsat has received a request from the Sudanese government to remove Dabanga from its satellite.

According to Mohamed Karim Mahmoud, product marketing manager of Arabsat Broadcast Services, the demand was based on a formal complaint he had received on the 24th of May 2015 by the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Sudan.

The station is considered to be hostile to the Sudanese government, Arabsat states in its announcement to stop broadcasting.

Asked by the uplink company whether there was any item or programme considered to be hostile to the Sudanese authorities, ArabSat answered: "Note that this complaint concerns the whole radio station, and not to a specific news item".

Dabanga Sudan and Radio Dabanga programmes can now be followed everywhere in Sudan on Eutelsat West 7A. People using Nilesat and Eutelsat can search for the other frequency on their TV list, or find the overview of frequencies here.
