Committee of Zalingei camps leaders calms stand-off at Hassa Hissa

A goodwill committee comprising of leaders of the Zalingei camps was able to calm the situation in Hassa Hissa camp after internal conflicts which erupted between two groups inside the camp on Wednesday. The conflict had led to the killing of at least 15 people and wounding of 20 people while 60 people were detained.

A goodwill committee comprising of leaders of the Zalingei camps was able to calm the situation in Hassa Hissa camp after internal conflicts which erupted between two groups inside the camp on Wednesday. The conflict had led to the killing of at least 15 people and wounding of 20 people while 60 people were detained. One of the members of the committee told Radio Dabanga that the committee sat with the sat with the two conflicting sides and reached to a halt in all the hostile operations between them and a pledge not to abuse or torture those detained and to not chase other people from each side. The member also affirmed to Radio Dabanga that the situation has now calmed down in Hassa Hissa camp after the two sides have pledged to commit to the agreement.
