Bogus jobs discovered in South Darfur government

A South Darfur commission of inquiry has discovered a number of fake job functions in the state government.
The investigation commission, set up by the South Darfur Ministry of Social Affairs, revealed the presence of 27 bogus functions in the state ministries. The salaries paid to the imaginary employees since 2014 amount to SDG360,000 ($59,000).
The commission will question more than 134 employees. Their salaries have been suspended.
A South Darfur government official told Radio Dabanga that “the embezzlement of public money still exists, despite the anti-fraud measures taken by the state”.
