Attacks, robberies in North and West Darfur

A group of gunmen attacked two villages in Sirba locality in West Darfur on Tuesday, and stole a number of livestock. In the capital of North Darfur, a man was robbed of his money.
Speaking to Radio Dabanga, the coordinator of the Sirba camps in West Darfur reported that a group of gunmen riding camels and horses attacked Buri and Junga villages on Tuesday morning. “They took seven horses and 80 sheep with them.”
He said that the incident caused panic among the residents of the locality. The victims filed a complaint to the police of Sirba “who did not move”.

On Wednesday, gunmen stopped Abdallah Abdelkabir in front of the Ministry of Urban Planning in the north Darfur capital of El Fasher. “They took the amount of SDG25,000 ($3,820) from me by force and escaped in a vehicle without plates,” the victim told this station.

Last week, the Commissioner of El Fasher locality issued a decree banning unlicensed vehicles. As of Sunday, any vehicle without plates would be confiscated.
