Citizens denounce frequent lootings in the area

A citizen of Nyala district in Alsoura was shot dead by a group of armed men on Sunday.The victim’s motorcycle was stolen after the assassination, which seems to have taken place right after breakfast. The motives behind the attack haven’t yet been confirmed.

Citizens from the Al-Muatr district pointed out the recurrence of such events in the past months, with more than four incidents having taken place in the last two weeks in various districts, a local told Radio Dabanga.

Food company handed fine

Meanwhile, the private food company Dal was handed a fine of 100,000 Sudanese pounds by the Nyalan court for the distribution of large quantities of expired soft drinks to the public.

The Customer Protection Society (CPS) said on this matter that the state should introduce stricter regulations and guidelines regarding food safety, and that the introduction of steroids and expired foods by traders and companies should be severely reprimanded.
