Arab League proposes initiative to assist in South Kordofan, Blue Nile state

The Arab league has proposed an initiative to address the humanitarian situation in the states of South Kordofan and Blue Nile, in coordination with the Sudanese government, the UN and the African Union. The initiative is aimed to ease tensions and facilitate the flow of humanitarian aid to the areas affected by conflict. The media office at the Arab League said the initiative is based on a number of principles, most notably beginning with the full respect for the sovereignty of Sudan.The initiative also includes securing the entry of humanitarian assistance to civilians affected by conflict and contributing to assisting the safe and voluntary return of displaced persons and refugees.
