Mustafa Tambour, the spokesman for the Sudan Liberation Movement, led by Abdel Wahid El Nur, reported to Radio Dabanga that the area of Rofita which is part of Rokoro locality, Central Darfur, was targeted with 19 bombs.

“Five villagers were killed as well as dozens of cattle. 19 houses went up in flames,” he said.

“The aerial attack caused an exodus of the people from the area. Most of them fled to the mountains.”

Tambour noted that the bombardment took place a few hours after President Omar Al Bashir’s visit to Zalingei, capital of Central Darfur, as part of his election campaign.
