Yellow fever vaccination campaign started in Kabkabiya, N.Darfur

The federal and state Ministries of Health have started a vaccination campaign against yellow fever in Kabkabiya locality, North Darfur, in collaboration with the World Health Organization.Abu El-Abbas Abdullah Tayeb Jeddo, state Minister of Health, said the campaign was initiated as a precautionary and preventive measure against the spread of yellow fever after suspected cases of the disease emerged in Jebel ‘Amer, the gold mining area, during the past period and revealed that the campaign targets to vaccinate approxiamately 248,000 citizens over the age of nine.Photo: Staff members of the Teaching Hospital in El Geneina, West Darfur, receive the first vaccination treatment on Yellow Fever -Photo by Albert González Farran- UNAMID
