Woman, daughter gang-raped in North Darfur

A woman and her daughter were gang-raped in Tawila locality in North Darfur on Friday.

“The woman and her 14-year-old daughter were tending their farm in the area of Tagaliwemagali, west of Shangil Tobaya, when a group of janjaweed riding camels seized them, and alternately raped them at gunpoint,” a farmer reported to Radio Dabanga from the area.

He said that the victims were taken to the Shangil Tobaya Hospital. “They both were in a really bad condition, in particular the schoolgirl.”

The attack was reported to the police of Shangil Tobaya and Unamid.
