In North Darfur’s Um Baru locality, militiamen attacked the Khazan Orschi Market on Friday. The same men robbed a number of nomads in the area as well.
A trader told Radio Dabanga from the Khazan Orschi Market that a group of militiamen driving 12 vehicles raided the market on Friday morning.
“They severely beat a number of shop and stall keepers before plundering their stores,” he said. “We estimated the losses at about SDG30,000 ($4,900).”
He added that later that day, the same men attacked a number of nomad settlements in the area, and robbed the inhabitants of their money and property.
