West Darfur minister orders activists detained

Security officers detained three activists in Kulbus town, West Darfur, on Sunday. “The activists were on their way to participate in a seminar on the security situation in the state,” a colleague of them told Radio Dabanga. “Hashem Osman, West Darfur state Minister of Finance and Nazir of the Gimir tribe, had ordered their detention, to prevent them from attending the seminar. He feared criticism on his policies, and the activists’ disclosure of details about the security situation,” the source explained.
