Displaced leader abducted in Central Darfur

Militiamen kidnapped a leader of Hassahissa camp for the displaced in Zalingei locality, Central Darfur, on Monday. Speaking to Radio Dabanga, the camp’s coordinator reported that “about 13 government-backed militiamen in a Land Cruiser attacked Saeed Yagoub Abdelshafi (47), while he was tending his farmland in the area of Sali, west of Zalingei town”. “They seized him at gunpoint, and left with him in the direction of Jebel Bum.” The coordinator said that the reasons for the abduction are unclear.
