Water, sanitation situation worsens in El Serif Camp, S. Darfur

IDPs in El Serif displaced camp in Nyala said that the water and environmental sanitation has been worsened by the suspension of organizations that had been working in this sector in the camp. The displaced people said that the U.S. organization Samaritan’s Purse had stopped working in the water sector, causing shortages of clear drinking water for the displaced. The suspension of environmental sanitation services has led to the proliferation of flies, mosquitoes and other insects which could lead to the spread of diseases associated with them, the residents told Radio Dabanga.
