Tawila district in North Darfur is witnessing a grave water crisis and an increase in the prices of fuel, goods and food items. A resident of the area blamed the crisis on the monopoly in the trade of fuel, goods and food items by one trader in El Fasher. The resident stated that a gallon of gasoline could reach up to eighty pounds and benzene to a hundred pounds. The resident also said that a barrel of water has increased in price, from three to six pounds, and a quarter of ground wheat from one to two pounds.
