Wahid and US-diplomat discuss Doha peace agreement

Dane Smith, US chief counselor to Darfur, met with Abdul Wahid’s Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM) at the  faction’s headquarters in the Midob Mountains on Monday. Nimr Abdul Rahman said that the meeting was held with Suleiman Marajan, the head of the revolutionary Council, and that they discussed the movement’s position on the Doha document, as well as potential solutions to improve the humanitarian situation in the refugee camps. Nimr stressed that they have asserted to Smith their position in favour of a comprehensive peace for the whole of Sudan, including the Blue Nile and South Kordofan states.
