UNDP holds workshops on risk & reconstruction in W. Darfur

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) supported a project in West Darfur for risk-assessment and analyzing crises and reconstruction in Darfur. The UN agency held a series of workshops on risk-assessment for communities in all parts of West Darfur during the past few months.

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) supported a project in West Darfur for risk-assessment and analyzing crises and reconstruction in Darfur. The UN agency held a series of workshops on risk-assessment for communities in all parts of West Darfur during the past few months.The 17 workshops were held on state and district levels and involved more than five hundred state government officials and representatives of civil society groups.


The aim of the workshops was to identify the dangers that threaten the stability and reconstruction of a community. The participants focused on the lack of opportunities of getting services and basic infrastructure, the increase in the unemployment rate, and the instability and security breakdowns that form primary threats to livelihoods in West Darfur.
