Two villagers abducted in North Darfur

A group of gunmen kidnapped two villagers near El Fasher, capital of North Darfur, on Sunday.
Speaking to Radio Dabanga, a listener reported that a group of gunmen riding camels raided the villages of Saluma and Debba Naira, not far from the Zamzam camp for the displaced in the neighbourhood of El Fasher on Sunday afternoon.
“They fired in the air, causing the residents to flee to the Zamzam camp,” he said. “Some of the attackers seized two people, one from each village, and took them with them.
“Others followed the people fleeing to the camp. Yet the policemen guarding the camp forced the janjaweed to retreat.”
