Two girls who went missing following a gang-rape by militiamen in North Darfur’s Shangil Tobaya on Wednesday have been found. Five are still missing.

As reported by Radio Dabanga yesterday, the girls were part of a group of teenagers from camp Shaddad who were ambushed by militiamen while they were collecting firewood and straw.

The militiamen gang-raped several of them, and beat and wounded the others.

One of the leaders of the displaced in Shangil Tobaya said they reported the incident to the police of Shangil Tobaya.

He said that the Unamid mission in Shangil Tobaya documented the incident and the girls were taken to hospital.
