Bandits abducted a passenger of a truck in North Darfur on Tuesday night. In Kassala state, a person was abducted in a vehicle, which was later found in Eritrea.

A witness told Radio Dabanga that members of a pro-government militia, driving in two Land Cruisers mounted with machine guns, intercepted a commercial truck on its way from Saraf Umra to Kabkabiya. They opened fire on the truck in Um Gileil area and forced it to stop.

The driver and passengers were forced out of the vehicle, after which the bandits took the truck and its assistant-driver to an unknown destination.

In Kassala state, a person was abducted by unidentified men in a vehicle. The vehicle was owned by a member of the state legislature.

A source informed Radio Dabanga that the vehicle was retrieved in Teseni, inside Eritrean territory. “This vehicle was often seen as being used in the human trafficking business.”
